Support a child in our girls home for one month - Safa.
Safa is around 16 years old and is the oldest child in the hostel. Safa's father left her mother and after her mother remarried, Safa was sent to live with an aunt. Her aunt sells charms in the Mazar which is a site for religious pilgrimage in Dhaka. This was not a safe environment for Safa so her aunt was happy for her to live in Basha's girls home. She loves animals and takes care of the hostel's dog who was also rescued from Dhaka's streets after he was run over as a puppy. Safa loves dancing and was selected as a youth leader of the local chapter of World Vision.
Our girls home takes at-risk girls off of the streets of Dhaka and provides shelter, a safe learning environment and resources otherwise unavailable to these young women.
By donating to Friends of Basha, you can help us provide essential programmes that help women and children escape exploitation. Together we can help women and children find freedom and dignity.
Thank you so much for joining our cause.
